Blowing Kisses With Lying Lips

Blowing Kisses With Lying Lips

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I was happy today

Happy without cause

I think it was the sun

That did it

Shiny sun

Warm sun

Lying sun

I blow it kisses

With lying lips

Lips that reek

Of the cigarettes

We smoked in drama

The f**s

That lay invisible

Between lying fingers

I close my eyes

And blow kisses to the sun

Because I want it to feel

The loneliness that

Eats us up

Blown kisses are for distant friends

Lovers touch lips

Lip to lip

Is lovers kiss

Hand to hand

A promise

But my hands and lips

Are liars

And they’ll keep

No promise

They falsely make

So I’ll use both

As I blow kisses

To the sun

And pray

It never blows them back.
