Black Clouds And Sunshine

Black Clouds And Sunshine

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Light rain

On leaf and root

Face and hair

Catching in hands

That stray among

The flower heads

Catching in fingers

That caress

Golden petals

The sky is dark

With towering black

Clouds

And the sunshine

Seems to leak

Under the edges

Of the oppressing

Blanket of moisture

Clothes stick to skin

Translucent where

The rain alights

Hair sticks to face

Feet to mud

The sun turns the

World golden

While the rain

Laces the sky in silver

And I stand in it all

Living, breathing

A single soul

Beneath the

Black clouds and

Sunshine

this took my breath away claire, especially the last stanza. it's so.. i don't know, i was gonna say dark but that's not the feeling i get, it's just so powerful. there's some really strong imagery and words and it's just... wow. "a single soul beneath the black clouds and sunshine"... amazing.
