Dismantle The Sun

Dismantle The Sun

A Poem by Cassidy Mask
"

Title taken from W. H. Audens poem 'Stop All The Clocks'

"

I kiss your lips

Because that’s all there is

Their stillness

Beneath mine

All else has perished

All else is immaterial

Irrelevant

Inconsequential

All else is gone

I kiss your lips

Breathe my breath

Through the space between

I even pray

But I’ve lost

And you’re over

Deceased

Defunct

Dead

I kiss your lips

All that’s left

And wait

For the void

To swallow me whole

Because

Without you

The world must cease

Without you

There is nought
