Nana Went.

Nana Went.

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

It’s written on the calendar

Two words and a full stop:

Nana went.

And I can’t help thinking

That it’s insufficient

To sum up

The death of a generation

Nana went where?

I think.

It makes it sound like

An active decision

But she didn’t go anywhere

She’s gone as a flame is gone

Gone out

She no longer exists

Here or anywhere

Nana went.

... moving beyond measure ... heartbreaking ... got no words ... that can defy the debilitating devastation caused by death ... am sorry to hear about your loss ...
