I Like The Way It Looks

I Like The Way It Looks

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I stopped for you

You know

Because I was

‘Being Selfish’

But if you’re going to

Change the rules

Be a hypocrite

Why shouldn’t

I get to do the same?

So I’ll take back

My favourite release

‘Be a child’

And open old wounds

If you’re going to

‘Act foolishly’

I might as well get

My turn too

Not because

I’m breaking

(Though maybe I am..?)

But because

I’m sadistic

And self-obsessed

And I like the way

It looks.

I like this. All of these traits are compulsory for all poets. That's why we're such lovable people.

claaaaaaaaire, this is goood, I like the anger I feel from it and then structure. i may be completely off the mark and this might be coincidental, but i like the break between "and self-obsessed and i like the way it looks" because it just... it kinda reflects the i'm breaking part?

i'm probably being one of those people we don't like, who just doesn't get it. ;D
brilliant write.
