Heliolatry

Heliolatry

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

We worship you,

Eyes shut in reverence

Limbs out in supplication

We stand before you,

Bask in your presence

Sacrificing skin to your fiery kiss

We exalt you,

Covering our skin with oils

To mark our unworthiness

We invite you into our lives,

Your rays reaching to us

Through sparkling windows

We capture you,

Use your power to

Fuel our fickle needs

You give us life,

Sustain us,

Provide.

We see you and we are happy.

Oooh I love this! I love how you talk about all the different ways we love the sun and then the last line is so simple and explains it perfectly! xx
