Peacock Eyes

Peacock Eyes

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I paint my eyes

Like a peacock’s

Dreaming I’m disguised

Amongst the other

Birds

I layer a sprinkling

Of emerald

Over my bright blue

Eyelids

Flutter my lashes

Like sparkling feathers

And dream

I can fly away

But

(Like a peacock in a zoo)

My clipped wings

Keep me grounded

A glittering ornament

In blue and green

Lovely imagery, and a great metaphor. A very unique way of incorporating make-up into a poem, lol ^.^
