The View From My Window, As Seen Through The Fly Screen.

The View From My Window, As Seen Through The Fly Screen.

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

The world is broken
Into tiny squares
Each one barely 2mm across

The sky makes up the
Majority of this jigsaw
But the grass and trees
Aren't far behind.

Tiny swallows dip
From square to square
Flirting first with a fragment
Of sky, now
With a chip of concrete.

Down below a bus lets out
A feral howl
As it comes to a sudden stop.

A moment of quiet,
The road is clear
Then
Like water from a tap
Cars, taxis, vans
Burst forth
With a bombardment
Of honking.

Such is the view from my window
