The Heat

The Heat

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I keep thinking:

‘I’ll feel better on

A cooler day’

But this IS

A cool day.

I’m tired and sticky

Can’t FOCUS

‘It’s the heat’

But this is the

Cool of the evening,

And I’m wearing

Very little

I thought you liked

Summer anyway?

Thought you liked

Being ‘toasty warm’...

Well, I travelled across

The world

Only to discover

I couldn’t handle the

Heat.

So I'm sorry. It was

All just WORDS.

Empty WORDS.
