A Poem by Cassidy Mask

She stood there

Looking down

And all they saw was

A girl watching the waves.

The camera round her neck

Had no film.

She looked like a tourist

But, something wasn’t

Quite

Right.

(The bag on her back was full of rocks)

She stood there

And all they saw

Was another spot already taken,

They walked down the beach

And all they heard was

The splash.

They looked back

But saw nothing.

Ignored the nagging feeling

In the back of their minds

Like they’d forgotten something.

(Wasn’t there somebody there

A moment ago?)

They walked down the beach,

That spot wasn’t

Quite

Right

For them.
