The Other Sky

The Other Sky

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I take a breath

And fall.

The water engulfs,

Bright blue

Forming a fresh sky

Above me.

I sink down until

My back rests against

The smooth tiles.

A string of bubbles

Like pale blue balloons

Escape my lips.

I watch them sail upwards

Past my knees

Which kick reflexively

Toward the surface.

It’s quiet down here

With the water

In my ears

Spreading my hair into

Waves around my face.

I can see soft white clouds

On the other sky,

They filter through

The blue water

Land in my blue eyes.

I reach a hand out

To touch them,

And my fingers break

The sky.

I rise like a bubble

To the surface

And my lips kiss

The air as I breathe again.

Also, it made me want to go swimming, although I hate swimming, so I won't...But, still, a seriously amazing poem!

....OH Hell, now that WAS amazing. Beautiful and brilliant.

'The water engulfs,
Bright blue
Forming a fresh sky
Above me.'
I love those lines and of course, the last three, they made me breathless. This is so fresh and simple. It feels new somehow, like being reborn or something. Love it.
