Single Or Singular

Single Or Singular

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I can’t live with myself

Let alone anyone else

And despite the sniggers

I can’t help but feel

Impressed with her honesty

And independence

As she admits mentions in passing

That she’s single.

She says it like one might

Say they were lucky.

After all what is ‘love’

But chemicals we can’t control.

I’ve always known

I’d be a spinster.

I like this, it is somewhere between self deprecating humour and blunt honesty....Love the last two lines. xx
