Nothing Of Importance

Nothing Of Importance

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Fingers tap

And you look at me

Properly.

I wish you wouldn’t

As I think it means

Something different to you

Than (it would) to me…

Eyes drag

Too tired to keep up

With a mind

High on sleep deprivation

And I flick through

Pages I already regret.

‘What’s that?’ you ask

And you point at a scrap

Of paper and blue ink.

I half smile.

‘Oh, just some writing’ I say

With a flippant wave…

‘Nothing of importance…’
