Sunlight

Sunlight

A Poem by Cassidy Mask
"

I found a pair of insect wings on my windowsill, they kept fluttering in the wind like they were trying to fly away..

"

The sunlight is glittering

(Sparkling)

(Dazzling)

On the window sill

And as the breeze

Reaches between

The tiny gaps in the

Fly screen

It caresses a pair

Of wings.

I watch them with

Scintillating eyes.

Eyes that catch

The light

And embrace it.

The wings flutter softly

But no body

Remains to be carried

Away on the breeze.

They fall still

Again.

The sunlight is glittering

In my wide eyes as

My fingers clutch

A pair of

Sun-gilded wings.

They flutter softly.

I release them

And they fall

Lift

Dance.

Caught on a

Sudden breath.

The sunlight is glittering

On my smiling teeth.
