Automatic

Automatic

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I am a machine.

Parts held together

By something

Not visible.

I try to decipher,

But my codes

Follow a foreign logic.

(My heart whispers to my lips

Don’t forget to breathe.

My lips whisper in return

Don’t forget to beat.)

When all else fails

We resort to auto.
