Prussian Blue

Prussian Blue

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I’ve got my knees

Held to my chest

My hands grasping

Brushes

Hands feverish

As they cover up

The biting whiteness.

I’m painting from a photograph

But the image

In my head

Is nothing but shifting

Light and memories.

Rays of sunshine

That catch in windblown hair

And make it

Golden.

Smiles that linger

At the furthest corner

Of relaxed lips,

And a sky so blue

It melts into the haze

Of hills.

I’m watching rain

Running down the soft

Grey bark

Of the forest,

The tears of trees,

And I’m holding a hand

That envelopes mine

Completely.

I’m at the sea

And all is foam

And flare, roar and crash

Waves sand stones.

(Do you hear the repetition?)

I am part of each.

Our molecules sing.

You’re watching me.

‘What are you thinking?’

I smile,

‘Prussian Blue.’

Beautiful. I love it how you made it come alive.

Mmmmm I love this, like eating chocolate. You create the image perfectly, it comes alive so well. I love ; 'The tears of trees,' and 'I’m at the sea/And all is foam/And flare, roar and crash' sooo beautiful.
