Achieved

Achieved

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

Lovingly and spitefully

I built your face

Layer upon layer

Your lips to kiss

Eyes to flutter

Open, closed.

I curved each cheek

Moulded you with

Harshly adoring strokes

Love and spite

Mixed up, woven

Into one process.

One outcome.

The words cold

On my bitter tongue.

You watch me with eyes

Half-closed

Defeated.

As I tick you off

My checklist.

Outcome achieved.
