I Did Something Stupid

I Did Something Stupid

A Poem by Cassidy Mask

I’m afraid of the angry mob

Of help turning to harm

Of being hated

Of ending up alone with my fears

And memories

I’m afraid I’ll never shake this off

I’m afraid of being recognised

Of being remembered

(For all the wrong reasons)

I’m afraid I can’t forget

Afraid of disappointing

Of wasting what I have

Because I can’t let go

I’m afraid it will soon be too late

And then I’ll realise

I worry too much.
