Drowning in Blue

Drowning in Blue

A Poem by Claude
"

The quietest moments often carry the heaviest weight.

"

I count your quiet laughter,
like fragile borrowed time,
each second slipping softly,
before it can be mine.

You smile like nothing’s breaking,
like nothing fades away,
while I keep memorizing
the parts that cannot stay.

Your hands are warm in mine,
too real to let go,
as if I could pause
what I already know.

The days move soft and slowly,
but never choose to stay,
they carry you in silence,
and pull you far away.

I learn your quiet breathing,
the pauses in between,
collecting every moment
before it turns unseen.

And when the night grows heavier,
and you are finally gone,
I’ll live inside those moments,
I knew all along.

A tender, aching meditation on love and inevitability—soft on the surface, devastating underneath.
The restraint makes it hit harder, each line quietly bracing for loss you can’t stop.

thanks for your read.
Precious thoughts and feelings that need to survive; experience is not enough unless its purpose is made clear then - pauses long enough to make even the slightest difference.

thanks your words are so deep. it made me think for a while.
Such a lovely blend of metaphor and allegory in this poem of love and day. The verse that struck me so strongly was:
The days move soft and slowly,
but never choose to stay,
they carry you in silence,
and pull you far away
This his close to heart and I think so well composed. A soft tender but most powerful write
