RunawayA Poem by Cocoacandyyou guessed it, also from last year...
I've run away from home,
It's a crisp autumn day. I walk down the streets, of my childhood home, with no place to be, and no place to go. I let my mind wander a little, to cope with the silence of these abandoned roads. No cars pass by, no happy children play in the allies. But the city's filled with fragrances. I smell the leaves, falling from the trees, I smell the flowers, in their final bloom, I smell the lake, a cool, moist smell. I turn down a back road, not sure where i'm going, and sounds fill my ears. The sound of the lake gently lapping at the shore, the trees, gently swaying in the breeze, the birds, singing their sad song, and the quiet crunch of fallen leaves beneath my feet. No one's around, but yet I don't feel alone, I just feel lost, not sure where i am, but not quite willing to go back. © 2011 CocoacandyFeatured Review
