Tears

My eyes are leaky faucets, letting tears escape down my face

This is where my emotions go when I don’t have a place to keep them

Sometimes I do not know why they come, only that they are here

Please know it does not mean you did something wrong

Tears could be nothing more than a memory of a not so faded scar

You don’t need to try and fix them, they are not yours to fix

I ask only for your understanding, patience and open arms

If they do not stop understand that I am healing

Have patience because it does not happen over night

Wrap me in your arms and whisper that it will be alright

I have faith that one day it will be alright
