Stop The Rain From Coming.A Poem by constance roseA poem about loving someone with the certainty of disaster and the faith of a miracle. If heaven exists it’s both of us in one armchair reading the same book, I love you like the drowned loved water, I write with the burnt hand about the fire, Nothings ever really quiet, But I expect u to stop the rain from coming. If hell exists it’s the realisation that we only have one shot, I love you like a moth to a flame, Even with a million re-runs I’d love you the same, Nothings ever really finished, But I expect u to stop the end from coming. If love exists its what I’m wallowing in now, No matter the weather, the when, the how. Jesus was a sailor when he walked on water, I’m the blade the wound and she who’s slaughtered, No matter your intentions I am succumbing But I expect you to stop the rain from coming. © 2026 constance roseAuthor's Note
