When You Make a Poet Fall in LoveA Chapter by ConstanceJust a light little verse with rhyme. Not intended to be scholarly or deep. It was shorter when I first posted it, and I've made it a little longer. When you make a poet fall in love You'd best be ready and prepared For each and every tender thought, Unabashedly and eloquently shared
When you make a poet fall in love They're going to waste a lot of time Etching out their feelings' proof Perhaps in meter and in rhyme
When you make a poet fall in love They'll tell you what you long to hear Even when they're too afraid To whisper it into your ear
When you make a poet fall in love It will be shown in more than verse A poet's soul is full of passion: Kisses or lines- a poet won't rehearse
When you make a poet fall in love They'll savor every memory And try to give it back to you With more than soft, sweet poetry
When you make a poet fall in love You've captured something rare Brimming with wonderment and light Heart, like mind, so driven to share
When you make a poet fall in love Falling out is hard to make them do For with each line they form resolve That keeps their fair heart true
My friend, when a poet falls in love... Make sure they fall in love with you
