And As When

A Poem by Constance

And alas the delusions fall

Truth-slickened rain pours forth

Wiping every trace of hope away

And thus ends a long and dreary day

 

As the hours are dimmer

I count them forward wishing

Time a dry erase board on wheels

As not everyone knows how it feels

 

When the clock slowly becomes

A skull with lines upon its face

Oh, the wind blows cold and pale

When I'm found standing in the gale

 

And thus ends a long and dreary day

All trace of hope burned up and flown away

Truth slickened rain only fans the flames

And alas, the delusions crumble, and they

I really like the ending where you used the word "fall" in a very cool way.
