Chapter 1
I felt the suns rays trying to pry my heavy eyelids open. I groaned and slammed a pillow in the face blocking the sunlight. I fell back into sleep, but then the national fanfare alarm went off to awake all spies, and assassins of the Acropolis Union. I was both, because of my "unique" ability as the high and proud Elitians called it. I quickly jumped out of bed and put on a my ugly uniform. It was purple stretchy material that stuck on your skin and squeak if you got it wet. I prefered my creme cloak which is rimmed with an ancient red design. It was given to me by my grandmama. She died not to long ago in combat. When I was qualified and chosen to become the AU, my grandmama told me before she left on her mission, " You are destined to do radical and miraculous things in the universe." What I never understand why she said universe and not planet? I mean I was never going to leave my planet ,Acropolis. Will I? I lived on this planet my entire life. I have heard rumors of another planet that can withstand life. I don't remember what it was called but it was a synonym for dirt. But now that this horrible disease called Moikian has spread death and starvation throughout my planet there is hope for that planet to be able to withstand life. I squeezed into the ugly purple suit but it was too tight. I groaned. I hate this piece of crap. I grabbed my daggers and made a rip in it to make it look like it ripped on "accident" . Oh well, I guess l just have to use my cloak. I put on my red pants and tank before I put on my cloak. I walked toward my bathroom and looked at myself their the mirror. A girl looked back at me. At eighteen she was beautiful beyond compare, but she was dangerous. She separated her long brown hair to fall like a waterfall down in front of her chest. She looked back at me and her eyes sparkled when a ray of sunlight hit them. They were the most dangerous part of me. I hated them. I pulled the hood of my cloak over my eyes. I grabbed my red lipstick and glided it across my lips. Red was an important to me but reminder of what a dangerous freak I was. I heard doors open and fellow classmates running down the hall toward the auditorium. I sighed as I headed out of my dorm. I was alone, which was okay since I didn't have to worry about annoying roommates. But once in awhile it was nice to have someone to talk to. I locked my dorm room and headed out into the auditorium for attendance. I looked at the clock floating on the ceiling as a robotic voice said ," You have ten minutes to reach the hall." I laughed. Like that idiotic clock can tell me where and what time I have to be. I walked at my own paced while other classmates where running like a bats out of hell not wanting to face the rough consquences. They always gave me an evil glare for they knew I could get away with it. "1 minute! "The robotic clock shrieked. "Here," "No, it just didn't fit." I shrugged. He raised an eyebrow, "It didn't fit? I guess you need to go in for another altering?" I heard my classmates chuckle. Inside I was growling, they couldn't beat me in any event. I clicked my heels together and stood up straight, " Yes sir." The auditorium was huge. There was different sections of event to train like a maze, a sword arena, boxing ring, and more. After he was done, he exclaimed in a loud voice. " Team 1: Swords. Team 2: Stealth. Team 3: Speed." Next he called my team.",Team 4. Obstacle course." " You should always be ready or your opponents strength and statics." Dmitri's eyes still stared into mine, and soon they moved to my bright red lips. My cheeks turned red and my heart beated faster. Was he going to kiss me? He can't have feelings for me! He is my instructor. My friend. I felt his breath, as his lips slowly came down to mine. Just as Dmitri's lips lightly brushed my lips a loud voice exclaimed, "Kimora?" Dmitri quickly stood up pulling me up with me. He bowed at the Elitian Claudius. Elitian Claudius was in his late forties. His hair had turned into a snowy white and his lengthy beard made him look wise. His eyes were a violet and there wasn't a wrinkle on his face. He wore a grand cloak that was purple and gold, the national colors of Acropolis. Around his neck he wore a medallion with the sacred Acropolis symbol of the sun. "We were just practicing hand-to-hand combat." Dmitri said confidently. Elitian Claudius bowed back and drawn his attention to me. I stood up straighter and bowed. "Come, child." Claudius lead me out the auditorium by my elbow. I looked back at Dmitri who's eyes never left me. Before we left the building, Dmitri lips moved and I knew what he said. "Good luck, my beloved Kimora." © 2014 The Invisible GirlReviews
