A Poem by Britanie

autumn
falls
on me again
another year
to remember
the things i
used to love
the sky solemnly
breaks open
with tiny cracks
of bright light
and the leaves
have started
to carve their
way into my heels
i feel their veins
spread up to
my thighs
and i remember
why
i’m still alive.
