A Difficult Fight

"It’s a difficult fight you see, to pick and find an ideology."

It’s a difficult fight you see,
to pick and find an ideology.

You
take a walk to the left and
you find liberty, freedom,
sexual expression,
and no threat of oppression.

Some
might run to the right,
not in fright but in spite of
the things they oppose
in their bodies from
their nose to their toes.

Me
I just walk to the grey-silent center
where I lay my bricks
to build a tower of which I can enter.
I climb to the top and light an ember
to ignite the torch in hope to scorch
the crashing tides of a human forge.
