hawks

hawks

A Poem by brianna vega

i read the words of liberators

i speak

i act i try to be free

but why must i feel so caged?

as i wage a war against the walls and shackles built around me

i feel as if im only tying this noose tighter

how may i escape from the impending doom of this room

which is not even mine?

its been so long that ive had some time

to call my owm

with out worrying

what time what time i need to arrive

each moment claimed in some way

i shut my eyes and dream of hawks

all swarming around

tearing at me with claws

Powerful ending... I feel this... always needing to be somewhere... and never the time to go where I want (which would the country for 6 months or forever)
