cheater. an old poem

cheater. an old poem

A Poem by brianna vega

She sat there in the shivering cold of the soft city lights

Staring into the pool

Her face hot with anger

Her body cold with pain

Her brain stoped from being stabbed with this unwanted information

She felt she couldn’t breath

She really couldn’t think

Her heart was pounding faster as each moment increased

He betrayed her

Tainted every last one of her memories

Dripped her fear into reality

She couldn’t see her happiness ever planning to return

How could he dare risk it all for something so worthless

A pleasure that would only last a few minutes

When she offered a pleasure with no limitations

An unconditional love that would come in time

Now  breaking, feeling as if she had left her heart in that phone call

Cutting it in half as she cut off his fake lies

All she wanted was for this to last forever
