lovers come

lovers come

A Poem by brianna vega

A chill fills me
Overtaking my whole being as I cough
Black lungs craving warmth

………..
Lovers come and they go
I look for love where no one goes
Loud eyes and simple sighs
Muffled laughs in the dead of night
There was one soul I rested in with hope
But lovers come then they go
Always never I would say
Slowly waiting for the day to fade
Lovers come then they go
…………………

An endless night I walked with my mind
With footsteps fading like the time
Shadows fall all around
And in my ears I hear the sound
And in my ears I hear my heart pound
This awful sound
This sickening beat
It drives me mad
As it mimics the beat of fingertips on a pad
Keyboards sing out to me
But every words incomplete
