Love Poem

Love Poem

A Poem by Count Humilus
"

Silence of me

"

Although you’ve seen shattered glass that could never be swept up completely

You shine like no other girl I’ve ever seen

That doesn’t mean the dark doesn’t escape you

But it chases us all

In love long ago

Not another lifetime

Not another metaphor

Simple love of a 4th grade boy

Fast forward with me if you can bare… Really take a moment Em.

Let the past settle in holding your heart heavy…

I don’t do this to induce pain

Because for me it was the same

Until we met again

We were fated by chance?

Chance spinning it’s wheel of fate betting with fallen angels over gin rummy, cigars and calvados.

Our moments now transpire together

Over our mobiles

Over our computers

Over our minds and breath at night

We bring it together with such bright lights

Lights so bright it was hard to see our steps

We didn’t follow an easy path

I lost my monocle somewhere in the grass

On my knees,

searching

I seizure with an epiphany of our situation

We never had to let go

We never have to find our body’s next to one another again

But I hear it in both our voices every phone call

Every thought drifting across the continent

We never shined so brightly when we were together

I need

I want

I love

My baby

I’m never walking away

Only with you towards our cardboard box at sunset

Je t’aime
