Rhyme and Reason

Rhyme and Reason

A Poem by Count Humilus
"

silence of me

"

 Space between moments

Time allowing wounds to scar

Space never felt so lonely

Time spent thinking about everything else around me at a bar

Shades of banana trees

Views of Orange’s being eaten by rats at dusk

The number 5 feels me free

The number 8 carries with it all my luck

Space in between my chest against your breasts

Time spent falling from grace

Space divides our best interests

Time with an espresso and cognac at a café

Love's lessons stack on my shoulders

Chips of minds alike mixing in two bags

One Jalapeno

The other sea salt and vinegar

My mind races towards my body like a boulder

Sobbing girls is my purgatory's suroundings

As I dry the tears with uninterested rags,

I give the vapid girls space

And a lost love time

Never kidding myself for a second that I’m losing my mind

This is interesting as I usually think of "without' rhyme nor reason, and you have reversed it to tell of how you view the scene in the bar, love lost, lessons learned, pool games, drinks, a very interesting mix and then to end as you observe the sad girls who are crying about you, yet you are not "their keeper" so to say,
amid their lost love time, as is yours, and to the last line that you accept it all as reality!
Many different takes in this write....I shall have to study it a bit more and remark again later.
