A Moment

 

For one brief moment, you stood by my side

We laughed together often, not till the end did we cry

Watching you suffer in silence was more than I could bear

And now that you’re gone it still doesn’t seem fair

You touched a part of me that brought forth the light

It is something I am sure will help me through these empty nights

Is it wrong to want you back, knowing you’re in a better place

Is it selfish of me, when you showed so much grace

I am left to wonder if I was all I could be to you

I hope that it was truly enough and that you know I’ll always love you

ok.. this is most likely about a broken love.. but you know.. it could be about friendship too== your poem puts into words some of the thoughts and feelings I had when my best friend died. It's a great poem

Profound and full of emotions.. very stirring! The creative way you embraced the full struggle of a moment in time.. with someone who may have really had great impact. Very realistic I would say.. I hope you get your wish if this is real! Brilliant outpouring loved the lines:

The feeling was one of a high love having to turn a shoulder as the pain was too much to bare.. but then wanting them back when the waters calmed. Only the one you turned your back on can truly answer such a question.. if love is real.. it never dies. Good luck!
