No Light in our History

No Light in our History

A Poem by Crimson_Woad

No Light in our History

Sometimes I look away from the human race
Looking what we done; to ourselves a disgrace
The rich get richer and the poor get poorer
No light in our history, darkened by war

Are we fighting to prove to what is above
Who taught us to respect and love
Is it so hard to accept and get along
Why is there times where we must sing sad songs

Must it until no-one is left to die
Can we tolerate the children who cry
Greed and xenophobia among ourselves
Breeding inside us, the demons that dwell

Is there a time where we will find peace
No sin, no killing and no need for police
So I wish for next year and the year after
Just a time of happiness and laughter
