Cynic

Cynic

A Poem by Toon

when you weep smiles are cheap

the crowd's deep, doesn't seem to deplete

mysteries, I keep miseries intact for a

lack of tact I keep trapped in each syllable

the words a chain of vicious disdain unkillable

my brain trained to remain unwillable

the unthinkable, another demonstration

of unfounded vilifications, compounded

by coy implications and resounding provocations

I blurt a few words and it's too late for me

the hurt does not wait for me

it speaks for me

it's in my fingertips but I can't feel it

I'm in the grips of it but I can't heal it

I can see it, but seeing is the limit
