Variation on a Previous Theme

same story different approach

Upon fate’s rising dawn 

one out of one is drawn

first appears as love vision

born within earthly heaven

two will now be as one

never to be undone.

Interloper so despised

queries what more denied

with brazen open foray

bringing doubt into play

seizing upon a thought 

what more to be sought.

Risking all wanting more      

unaware of end to be borne 

willingly loses present all   

one first taste and final fall 

causing two to be undone

each two becoming one.

First love as a radiant bliss

tragically at last gone amiss

sees change in love's face

loving heart still in place

other takes a deadly bite 

ushers in promised night.

Separate now together roam

among tragic results alone

two for ever yet carry on

effected path forever long

not alone as others done

walking path led by One.
