The Only True Myth

The Only True Myth

A Poem by carl
"

with apologies for long absence - busy about other things -

"

This is not just a simple paradox

or the same old scrum category-

rather it is an unveiled possibility

offered as a separate true story.

When observing such suspect truth

it requires a fine tuning of reason-

and a rejection of weak excuses

to prevent some neural confusion.

Don’t just settle on simple repetitions

for the later may really be the first due-

for it is declared, the meaning of Deru

is always solid, steadfast, and true.

There is a very deep well of belief

that reports on truth and perfection-

but when bound together in time

they are found to present just one.

Images often recur within dreams-

but in reality should always be seen

as linked tightly inside one another

not viewed as the past they seem.

Shadows can cast ahead of a thing

to express what will be by what was-

if so, the real nature of Maize King

is a forecast of the Only True Myth.

Sir George Frasier in the Golden Bough explores this well. Yes the sacrifice of the god for the prosperity of the people in a good harvest. The king of the woods at the temple of Delphi to be killed by the runaway slave that dared enter and cut a bough, mistletoe from the sacred tree and fight in single armed combat the King in challenge for the throne. The vanquished king slain as the dying sun it reborn in the dawn of a new king resurrected as the dying seed resurrects in the new corn that will be sacrificed when beheaded in the harvest a continuing cycle of life and death. A lovely poem Carl
