The Day Ends

The Day Ends

A Poem by carl
"

finished three days of lawn work and watched the day end

"

The Day Ends:

The close comes with a sigh

no herald from heaven

no voice from mountain side

just a slow spreading silence.

The day ends as a dandelion pirouettes across the lawn.

So ends sweet scent hum of bees

mockingbird stops copied refrains

flickers cease drumming on trees

patter of rain’s small feet subsides.

A singular pomp and ceremony snail crosses the driveway.

Earlier groaning gone silent

nature takes a deserved bow

surrenders with wrapped arms

and falls into a deep sleep.

A strong metaphor here, fine description, I felt time running out. Nicely composed Carl. Really nice nature visuals.

thank you for your kind encouragement - carl
A deserved finale to your efforts here. Its almost as if nature knew you were watching and helped ease those aches in your muscles. And you just cant buy those moments no matter how much we'd pay for them.
Enjoy your moment Carl. Even Ma Nature says so. 😃

This one could also be a metaphor describing the end of our lives. Current events in Iran excluded, of course.
