The Day EndsA Poem by carlfinished three days of lawn work and watched the day endThe Day Ends: The close comes with a sigh no herald from heaven no voice from mountain side just a slow spreading silence. The day ends as a dandelion pirouettes across the lawn. So ends sweet scent hum of bees mockingbird stops copied refrains flickers cease drumming on trees patter of rain’s small feet subsides. A singular pomp and ceremony snail crosses the driveway. Earlier groaning gone silent nature takes a deserved bow surrenders with wrapped arms and falls into a deep sleep. © 2026 carlReviews
