The hardest part is letting go of something that never was

If I had to say when exactly it was I fell i love with you, honestly i have no clue
Somewhere between the cute texts, the crazy voice notes and making me laugh like crazy
It happened slowly at first then all at once
For a minute there, I really thought this was it
I really thought the feeling was mutual.

It was going so great, you reeled me in real good
I was totally hypnotized by the magical being that's you
I could feel myself totally get lost in it all
Truth be told I was loving every second of it.

Just as quickly as it all came, it's gone now
Everything has totally changed
You were so perfect but now so distant
You were my rainbow yet you came before the storm.

I guess this is what they call a whirlwind romance
But how can it be, you never were really even mine
For all it could have been...
The hardest part is getting over what never was.
