Urban legend says that Hemingway wrote a VERY sad six word story: "Baby shoes for sale. Never used."

He didn't, but on hearing about it, he sat down and penned nine six-word stories, on the same theme. From the pages of The New Yorker magazine:

For sale: baby shoes. Really big.

For hire: giant baby. Very amusing.

Rent baby for fun, scary evening.

Have you seen enormous baby? Escaped.

Please help. Huge baby at large.

Authorities warn: beware of monster baby.

Baby crushes pickup truck. Bare hands.
