I Am So ColdA Poem by Ben TaylorI am a vessel of glass, Condensation softly freezing on my facets and corners. The wind titters gently as it rubs past my razor thin edges. I call feel the frigidity soaking through my crystalline layers, Mingling with the warm air at my center. As it cools, it contracts. My flat surfaces begin to exhibit concavity As I am pulled in towards myself. Fingers of frost and ice tangle themselves in my glass-shard hair. My center is a frost-bitten vacuum. I reach out to touch you, but when my hand, brittle and cold, Touches your hand, the warmth shatters it. I stare uncomprehendingly at my glittering stump As my body compresses, the cold fracturing me. I am in pieces. I am so cold.
