Embrace

Embrace

A Poem by Ben Taylor

I perceived myself as frozen,
Frost hard and brittle.
But as your exhale wafts timidly
From behind the perfect curve of your lips,
I melt.
I ache to feel your warmth pressed against me.
But, instead, I grasp at your words,
Clutching them with these uselessly large fingers
Until they grow frigid and flit away.
