As a God DissapearedA Poem by Ben TaylorThe night is a soft satin trailing across the cement, Avoiding well polished footfalls and bland circles of lamplight. Betwixt its dark wrinkles the multitude of downcast stares meander. The ponderous moon peers from the sky, But only one pair of young eyes descry it. Eventually, however, he is distracted by a glimmer at his feet, An upturned coin on the concrete. Luna blinks impotently as he genuflects To collect his remuneration -- And then She promptly ceases to exist. For a thing unobserved Is simply nothing at all.
