Downpour

Downpour

A Poem by Ben Taylor

A kindergarten-scribble of brilliant light,
A blinding, burning fissure in the thunderheads.
The sky trembles, splintering under the pressure
Of the frenzied storm, leaving eidetic afterimages.
The heavens weep petulantly,
Shaking the the trees with mumbled curses.
Their ambivalence whips tears into torrents,
Force-feeding gutters and plastering hair
To my ecstatically upturned face.

I really like this, it makes me think of how chaotically beautiful storms are, and how happy I am when I can stand outside in them (:
