Impotent

Impotent

A Poem by Ben Taylor

"The mere fact that I exist
Most certainly means my life
Has meaning,"
The man proclaimed boldly.
The Universe chuckled
None too gently,
"You presume much of yourself."
"Is it not so?"
Time eroded the stones underfoot
Slowly to gravel,
An answer in itself
If I were willing to listen.

Many questions raised by the poem. What is the worth of one life? I believe each of us have a purpose. We need to find it and hope life is something of value. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.
