SwimminglyA Poem by Ben TaylorThe moon bares its teeth salaciously, Grinning as I attempt to avert my eyes. Her skin shivers as it touches the water. The stars coruscate from her shoulders, And I, too, shiver Despite the summer's sultry breath. She glances back mischievously As midnight susurrations tangle the hair On her bare back; I see the devil in her smile And feel a devil of my own Descend my ribs like rungs. The water ensconces her as she slips in Deeper-- It glides across her skin, A tide encroaching upon some Oft-dreamt-of paradise. Footsteps trail behind me in the sand As my devil drags me forwards, As the water laps my feet. © 2012 Ben TaylorFeatured Review
