Drowning

My first poem here. Inspired by a Korean movie. For you. The one whom I wrote my first poem for.

For all lovers lost

to the waves of life.

For all lovers lost

to time.

For all lovers lost

to direction, never meant to meet again.

For all lovers lost

to memory, with its smiles and kisses

and chokes and gags and sneers.

For all lovers lost

to the very idea of love itself.

The cruel smirk of fate reigns

above us, as it tries to capsize

the boat where hearts that pains

try to stay afloat

in a pond of cruelty and lies and mischief.
