Something I was told before everything fell apart

Back when I actually stood a chance

Back when I had a heart

They said to shoot for the stars

Well that's just what I did

In return I was given six new scars

And wished that I never lived

So I say don't get your hopes up

Those promises are never kept

Because dreams aren't handed out these days

Instead a curse is what you get.
