Even Though

This is about a friend of mine who passed away last november....It's not really good..

I heard you asked about me,

a few days before you left. 

That broke my heart a little.

It's a feeling I'll never forget. 

I know we had not been speaking, 

so there was nothing I could have done. 

Yet, I still blame myself. 

I should have noticed you needed someone. 

It's been a little over 6 months now.

It honestly doesn't feel real. 

I can't believe I made it and you didn't....

it shocks me still. 

Sometimes I look at photos of you, 

I love to see your smile. 

Even though you're gone now,

seeing it makes me feel better for a while.

losing a friend in any way can be devastating...

i'm sorry for your loss

but one thing i've learned as a writer is that with my pen i can immortalize those I care about
