SecretA Poem by danalynWhen you want to learn to writeHow do you write? You draw it, scribbles and shapes from those random bouts of sadness Of utmost desperation And silent loneliness You sing it, from the crevices of crevices of your heart’s chambers Those salty tears intruding upon Those wrinkled smiling eyelids You dance it, from the movement of words and Flow of the writing’s music filling up your veins Making your ears pop! and pump out uncontrollable blood You kill for it, fatally prick another soul Destroy those past relationships, past persons And from their moss skeletons, pick the words you wished You have said before You die for it. The ability to write is something you must Trade your humanity for. In return, the eyes of Lady Life herself are suddenly granted And the world is yours to write. © 2023 danalynReviews
